Road Crossing Samatiga

  Posted by Picasa
Coming through these small villages Its hard to imagine what they were like previously. Usually the only structures left standing are Mosque. samatiga is very flat so the only survivors were those who managed to hang onto coconut palms, or get to the roof of a mosque. Its blew me away to see that all the buildings were totally destroyed, but the coconut palms remained. When you see the remains of 3 or 4 mosques within a stretch of 500m you start to realize how many people must have lived in the village.
