I use a cannon 20d but not a very good range on lenses unfortunatly :(
I do a little post processing mostly levels adjustments in PS.
Basicly the rule I use is if you can't do it in the dark room you shouldn't do it in PS.
I often underexpose the ambient light and use flash to compensate. This usually bumps up the saturation as well.
